As of Monday 29, the health fence of Tikantiki in the Guna Yala region will be lifted


After measuring the epidemiological behavior of the Guna Yala Comarca, the Ministry of Health lifted the sanitary fence that is maintained in the community of Tikantiki, Narganá district, as of this Monday, March 29, 2021.

This health fence was established after 349 cases and 12 deaths were reported, today the community has zero positive cases.

The decrease was achieved thanks to the support of local and administrative authorities and the attention of the health team in charge of monitoring the cases.

The team of the Directorate General of Health, led by Dr. Nadja Porcell, shared that to date the Guna Yala Comarca has 20 active cases divided between the communities of Narganá, Aligandi and Tubuala.

The Regional Director of the Region, Wagayoguna Díaz, was present at the meeting; Governor Alexis Alvarado; deputy director of Indigenous Health Affairs, Juan Gómez; Deputy Commissioner of the National Border Service (Senafront), in Guna Yala, Danis Villarreal, and on behalf of the Panama Solidario program, Ilych Morales.
