As part of a social policy that aims to protect the most vulnerable populations, the Ministry of Social Development (Mides) announces that from Monday, September 6 to Friday, September 17, the third payment of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programs (PTMC) will be made. by Social Key Card (TCS) for the benefit of 156 thousand 937 Panamanians with limited resources for an amount of 49.2 million.

 

During this period, the beneficiaries will receive their transfers at ATMs, supermarkets, pharmacies and shops, to buy basic necessities such as food, cleaning products and medicines.

 

The owner of the social portfolio, María Inés Castillo, advised beneficiaries to use payment points to avoid having cash and being victims of theft and also reduce crowds at ATMs.

 

Minister Castillo recalled that these programs represent an economic injection for the country, while restoring the rights and fighting poverty of families that have been excluded from social development.

 

He stressed that these transfers are part of the 125 priority actions of the Uniting Forces Action Plan that are part of the work agenda of the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen.

 

The payment by social key card is made nine days after Mides disbursed 6.9 million balboas to 34,166 beneficiaries in hard-to-reach areas. The State has transferred in this third payment of 2021 a total of 56.1 million balboas, to guarantee the food security of 191,103 Panamanians.

 

Under the two payment modalities (TCS and areas of difficult access) the program 120 at 65 benefits 122 thousand 525 people, while the Opportunities Network impacts 41 thousand 397, Guardian Angel provides benefits to 19 thousand 107 and the bonus Food of SENAPAN assists 8 thousand 74 people.

 

The Mides makes it opportune to inform that no documentation is being required in regional, provincial and county headquarters to be able to receive the payment of the month of September of the monetary transfers, this includes the vaccination cards against Covid-19.

 

It is important to note that currently Mides staff is conducting a data update session for those beneficiaries who have been in the programs for 3 to 5 years or more, in order to update the registry and the registry database. Nacional de Beneficiarios, which began in August and will culminate in December.
