The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre participated this Thursday with his work team in a verification tour of the vaccination process with the doses of Pfizer at the Carmen Solé B. School and at the José María Torrijos School in the town of Juan Diaz.
The development of the conference began this Wednesday, August 11 and will culminate on Sunday, August 15 and it is expected to inoculate in the 8-8 circuit more than 20 thousand people through the sweeping technique which is aimed at those over 16 years of age.
During his visit, the Health Minister referred to the Delta variant, which he recalled has been presented in various parts of the country, for which he asked the population to reinforce biosafety measures, to be vaccinated according to the platform and the organization that has been established. .
Regarding the application of a possible third dose, he mentioned that the studies carried out by the FDA, CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO) are awaited to indicate that it should indeed be applied; In this sense, it will be managed and the contacts to access it are being made at this time.
"We will continue to apply the same vaccines, we currently have two of the best and according to our advisers we are not going to change the type of vaccine," said Minister Sucre.
He pointed out that those patients with chronic diseases will be immunized first and then they will continue in the same order according to the established strategy.
He argued that more than 90% of people who have recently died have not placed any dose and 0.7% who have had both doses have been complicated by suffering from very complicated diseases.
Regarding the situation regarding activity carried out in the province of Veraguas, he explained that he has not received a complaint and awaits the official report from the Regional Health Directorate of Veraguas to be able to make decisions
