ASSEMBLY APPROVES 52.2 MILLION REQUESTED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE IMA

The general director of the Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA), Carlos Motta, requested a transfer of departure for B /. 55,229,512.00 before the Budget Commission of the National Assembly for Panama Solidario and cancellation of pending accounts of the entity, a request that was approved by the deputies.

Of the amount granted, B /. 47 million are for the manufacture of 2.4 million solidarity bags with national food, from April to June 2021.

While B /. 6.4 million will allow the IMA to cancel pending accounts with producers.

During the presentation before said commission, the head of the IMA was accompanied by the entity's deputy director general, Raimundo Valencia, and the administrative coordinator of Panamá Solidario, Roy Frías.

Motta indicated that, thanks to constant work, for more than a year the production of some 20,000 bags has continued daily, which are distributed to the population through the program.
