ATP and ITSE launch technical training program


The general administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority, Iván Eskildsen and the educational manager in charge of the Specialized Higher Technical Institute (ITSE), Deeyvid, Sáez, signed an Educational Cooperation Agreement whose main objective is to promote links for mutual benefit and promote quality of services as members of the value chain of the tourism industry, which is one of the priorities of the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism 2020-2025.

As of the signing of this Agreement, relations of cooperation and understanding, inter-institutional technical assistance are established between ITSE and ATP, to promote training, practice and research projects in general and in support of vulnerable populations in particular, in a joint effort to further strengthen the progress of the plans established by the State.

 "Under the agreement of this Agreement, the ITSE joins the transformation of tourism in Panama, establishing annual work plans, appointing people in charge to coordinate, supervise and supervise the fulfillment of the activities that are developed", Eskildsen highlighted.

He assured that through the Agreement it is sought to efficiently and quickly achieve the goals of social development, technical education and promotion of tourism education, which constitutes an alternative for the economic boost and the generation of jobs.

For his part, Deeyvid, Sáez, educational general director in charge of the Specialized Higher Technical Institute (ITSE), said “Today, we have identified opportunities to improve our educational offer in the tourism sector, to expand it and make it more relevant to the challenges that the pandemic has imposed.

That is why the commitment we made this afternoon will open spaces for collaboration and development that translate into opportunities for our students. Furthermore, it will make it possible to close the gap between the educational and productive sectors in terms of Tourism ”, he pointed out.
