Citizens will have a tool to monitor social programs

The Ministry of Development (MIDES) installed an innovative tool on its website wwwmides.gob.pa that contains the record of subsidy payments and conditional cash transfers carried out by the National Government in order to guarantee transparency in the processes.

This was announced by the Minister of Social Development, María Inés Castillo, who explained that with this new element the public will be able to access the Accountability site, where citizens will find updated information on the various social programs administered by the ministry and how State subsidy allocations are managed in terms of organization and category.

In this context, he explained that the information from the different MIDES programs is processed according to the records that are generated, since the digital tool is the product of arduous inter-institutional work between the various departments responsible for social programs.

Castillo added that modern processes have the primary purpose of showing citizens how state resources destined for vulnerable populations are managed transparently and responsibly, especially in difficult times the world is going through with the Covid-19 pandemic. .
