With reinforced strategies it is intended to reduce cases of COVID-19

With traceability strategies, sweep with the taking of swabs and mass vaccination in various centers authorized to apply the doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca, the Metropolitan Health Region maintains daily epidemiological surveillance in the 23 sanitary responsibility districts with the purpose of minimize cases and incidents due to COVID-19.

In the weekly epidemiological report it is detailed that there are currently 2,445 active cases of which 2,285 are at home, 70 people in hotels, 90 hospitalized patients and 43 in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while 8,290 people are contacts quarantined.

In the Metropolitan Health Region, the townships that have an incidence and high rate of cases are Bethania (302), San Francisco (247), Tocumen (192), Bella Vista (180), Parque Lefevre (179), Ancón (160), December 24 (159) and Pueblo Nuevo (143).

The report also describes that the positivity of the tests is 4%, the lethality is 2.2% and a Rt of 0.99.

As for the accumulated cases, these report 84,095, the total of recovered 79,284 people and in the total of deaths there are 1,811 people.

The Ministry of Health reiterates to the population not to lower its guard in the face of this third wave or increase in cases and to continue with biosafety measures in public transport, the workplace and at home to prevent the spread of the virus.
