Cortizo announces extension of bank flexibility and New Panama Solidarity Plan until December 31, 2021

To access Banking Flexibility, affected customers must approach their bank before September 30, 2021 to support their financial situation and reach an agreement.


To continue guaranteeing social peace in the country and as a relief in favor of the most vulnerable Panamanians affected by the pandemic, President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen announced the New Panama Solidarity Plan and the Banking Flexibilization Agreement, both measures with an extension until December 31, 2021.

 

President Cortizo Cohen explained that the New Panama Solidario Plan (PPS) includes a co-responsibility component in which the beneficiary will have the options of providing a social service in their community or receiving training for life and work through the National Institute of Vocational Training and Training for Human Development (Inadeh).

 

“In this way, the New Panama Solidario Plan, on the one hand, encourages the personal improvement of the beneficiaries with opportunities for training and, on the other hand, encourages citizen participation in the search for solutions to the problems of their communities, contributing to the economic recovery of the country, ”said Cortizo Cohen.

 

The president explained that as the vaccination process against Covid-19 and the economic recovery progress, jobs will be reactivated, new jobs will be generated and the deliveries of the New Panama Solidarity Plan will be adjusted to the dynamics of national life.

 

The new PPS maintains the delivery of the digital voucher in the amount of B / .120.00 per month to the beneficiaries through community social service or training.

 

The Panama Solidario Plan has benefited 1,700,000 Panamanians and has been a fundamental factor for social peace in the midst of the pandemic. In addition, the plan has been highly valued by different world organizations, since it contributed to minimize the increase in poverty and inequality levels in the midst of the pandemic.
