Miviot crews build and repair homes for 596 families


In almost two years of management, a total of 596 housing solutions, including basic units and home improvements, have been built nationwide by self-management, for the same number of families.

This figure is derived from the monthly report issued by the Housing Improvement Directorate of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), whose crews of workers build and repair homes throughout the national geography, where it details that of that total, 258 are basic units of two bedrooms and 338 correspond to home improvements.

The basic unit dwellings are distributed as follows: 47 in the province of Panama, 43 in Panama Oeste, 34 in Coclé, 21 in Bocas del Toro, 1 in Colón, 31 in Chiriquí, 5 in Darién, 23 in Herrera, 28 in Los Santos, 22 in Veraguas and 2 in the Ngäbe Buglé region.

Meanwhile, the improvements to residences were 58 in Panama, 121 in West Panama, 14 in Coclé, 12 in Bocas del Toro, 60 in Chiriquí, 12 in Herrera, 12 in Los Santos and 49 in Veraguas.

Likewise, 67 housing solutions are under execution, of which 44 are basic units and 23 correspond to improvements that are carried out in different parts of the country, in order to provide answers to the housing needs of the Panamanian population.

The Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning, Rogelio Paredes, said that this support is given with special attention to people with disabilities or chronic diseases and to sectors with fewer economic resources of poverty and extreme poverty, in order to improve their living conditions.
