Four agro-entrepreneurs receive seed capital in West Panama


Four women residing in the communities of the Cacao district in the Capira district recently benefited from the transfer of opportunities project for rural women directed by the Rural Development Directorate of the Ministry of Agricultural Development of that region.

They are Noemí Chirú, Nimia Rivera, Dalis Herrera and Epifania Herrera, who received more than 1,000 balboas each, to start their agribusiness projects. Three of them will start with chicken fattening and one with pig farming.

The regional director of MIDA in West Panama, Emilio Barría, pointed out that four checks were delivered, and each of the participants will be followed up with technical assistance, so that each activity results and provides sustainability to each one. of families, the main objective of the program.

Noemí Chirú, one of the beneficiaries thanked the authorities for being part of this project, and the seed capital she received for the chicken raising project. Similarly, Nimia Rivera, who will carry out the pig project, indicated that this money will be used to lay the foundations of its activity.

These agro-entrepreneurs from the Cacao district are part of the 200 women who benefited in the last year, with more than 190,000 non-refundable balboas.

The Cacao township is one of the 300 townships that belongs to the Colmena Plan led by the National Government, led by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, whose objective is to territorially organize the comprehensive implementation of public policy through the offer articulated multisectoral system that guarantees the population the right to development.
