They appoint a new general director of the National Disability Secretariat (Senadis).


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, appointed Iris Mercedes González de Valenzuela as the new general director of the National Disability Secretariat (Senadis), replacing Donahy Raquel Shaud, who recently resigned from office.

González de Valenzuela has a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from the Instituto Mexicano de Rehabilitación (1983) and a Post-Graduate Specialization in the Methodology of Multiple Simultaneous Stimulations from the Instituto Philip Pinel de Buenos Aires, Argentina (199


Currently, González de Valenzuela works as Coordinator of Disability Issues in the Directorate of Social Projection of the Office of the First Lady of the Republic, worked at the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (INMFR) and Director of ONSIPD - Ministry of Health , among other professional experiences that are highlighted in your resume.
Additionally, he has a Post-Graduate Degree in Higher Education from the Latin University of Panama (2000) and a Master's Degree in Public Policy Management for the Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities and their Families (2011).

The new general director of SENADIS has been a university professor at the Universidad Latina and the Specialized University of the Americas (UDELAS) and has to her credit several publications on disability such as “Current Situation and Perspective of Disability in Panama (2005) ; "National Strategic Plan for the Social Integration of People with Disabilities and their Families (2009) and" Research Work on Validation and Results of the Application of the Simultaneous Multiple Stimulation Methodology "(1999)
