Office of the First Lady receives donation of medical supplies for the Nicolás Solano Hospital


The Office of the First Lady, in alliance with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, managed the donation of 81,544 biosafety supplies for the health personnel of the Nicolás Solano Hospital, located in the province of Panamá Oeste, which is located on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.

Among the supplies that will be distributed to the hospital are gloves of different sizes, disposable gowns, general use gowns, N-95 type masks, rolls of cloth for uniforms, alcohol, diapers, among others.

"With all my heart, I thank the members of this community for this valuable contribution to the health personnel of our country, so necessary at this time. We continue to experience a pandemic and we must not lower our guard. It is gratifying to know that we can join forces. to get ahead, "added Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, First Lady of the Republic.

 

The members of this community previously made a donation to the Chiriquí Health Region, also managed by the Office of the First Lady, which benefits various health centers and hospitals in the area. Adding both donations, the total sum amounts to more than B /. 92,000.00, valued in biosafety supplies that directly benefit the public health system.

  

For his part, Johnny Ruiz, ecclesiastical leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Panama, added, “We are grateful first of all to Our Heavenly Father, the Office of the First Lady, and the Ministry of Health for the opportunity to cooperate. with health specialists and patients in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and extend a helping hand to our neighbors ”.

 

The Ministry of Health is the entity that receives the biosafety supplies and is in charge of distributing them in the hospital.

 
 

For the month of August, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to deliver 13 kits to 13 health regions nationwide.
