Two Chame families receive homes from President Cortizo Cohen


Two families in extreme poverty, residents in the district of Gorgona, district of Chame, province of Panama Oeste, were benefited with the construction of new housing solutions, which are being built by the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), through the Directorate of Housing Improvement.

It is the residence of two families, which have five and six members each, who were in poor condition and did not have the financial resources for the repair or construction of new structures.

The keys to the first house were delivered from the hands of the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen and the Minister of the Housing portfolio, Rogelio Paredes, to Daslia Villanueva, 38, who from now on has a secure roof and comfortable to share with your loved ones.

This family is also made up of the 38-year-old spouse Efraín Aguilar and their minor children Efraín, Keanu, Caleb and Josabad Aguilar, 16, 12, 11 and 3 years old, respectively.

The first president of the Nation stated that the National Government will continue to provide a better quality of life to families living in poverty, extreme poverty, with members with disabilities and chronic diseases, for their better well-being.

For his part, Minister Paredes indicated that this family lived in a house built with zinc sheets in poor condition, round stick walls, a dirt floor, the bathroom was located outside and used a latrine service.

He revealed that the only income of 100 balboas per month that this family receives comes from the cleaning of patios and occasional masonry work carried out by the adult, so it was difficult for them to remodel their house.

Today, Paredes indicated, this family receives a basic unit of 42 square meters, with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and portal. In addition, it was furnished through the inter-institutional work of the Transformado Vidas plan.

The second family benefited and that received the certificate of their housing solution in an event organized by the Presidency of the Republic, is made up of Florentina Sánchez, 37 years old and her minor children Angélica, Mayelis, José O. and José E., from 15, 13, 12 and 8 years, respectively. The minor under 15 years old has a skin condition.
