Students participate in the International Day of Democracy


With the motto ´Democracy is also equal rights, the International Day of Democracy was held online, in which the Electoral Tribunal in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, presented academic and cultural activities with the aim of highlighting equal rights to through actions such as cultural events, student discussion, national and international exhibitors and video presentations to highlight values.

The Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, indicated that the Ministry of Education, aware of its role in educating citizens, displays the elements of democracy by maintaining an unrestricted, inclusive and participatory education, this is how we find that From initial education, pre-secondary and secondary education, access to the educational system is free for all students who are in the Panamanian nation.

During the event, student Cristofer De León, from CEBG El Bolívar in the district of Soná, province of Veraguas, delighted with the tenth allusive to the International Day of Democracy.

The international speaker, Diana Atamaint, president of the National Council of Ecuador, also participated. She spoke about democracy, it is also equal rights and free expression; while, middle school students participated in a discussion and presented videos on civic issues
