The Office of the First Lady, from its Association Pro Obras de Beneficencia, joins cooperation ties with the MAPFRE Foundation through the signing of an agreement that allocates the donation of $ 152,000.00 balboas for the acquisition of milk, cereals and disposable diapers for infants; as well as food supplements and diapers for older adults from different homes and dining rooms in the country.
This is done with the objective of supporting the "Panama Solidario por Nuestra Niñez" program, which is led by the Office of the First Lady and provides social assistance to those citizens who have suffered deficiencies as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Having the support of Fundación MAPFRE to expand our reach and impact makes a big difference. This agreement will allow us to reach more families, and therefore more children, whose physical and emotional development are at risk. But, we will not only help children. I appreciate the noble gesture of including our older adults in this agreement. It definitely speaks volumes about the values, commitment and social responsibility of MAPFRE and its foundation, "said Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, First Lady of the Republic.
Some of the homes, shelters and dining rooms that will be benefited are the Hogar San José, Hogar Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Hogar Bolívar, Hogar San José de Malambo, Albergue María, Miraculous Medal, Hogar Virgen de Loreto, Hogar Sagrado Corazón, Comedor La Cascada , Children Sheltered by God Dining Room, Bajo Las Palmas Dining Room, La Fabela Dining Room, New Jerusalem Dining Room, La Gran Bendición No.1 and 2 Dining Room, La Cristal Dining Room, Adoration Cathedral, Chapala Tower Dining Room, Cerro Cabra Dining Room, La Constancia Dining Room , Nueva Luz Dining Room, El Mirador Dining Room, Emanuel Center, Mother Teresa of Calcuta Dining Room, among others.
Donations will be coordinated and delivered by the Asociación Pro-Obras de Beneficencia and the Office of the First Lady.
