President Cortizo Cohen's tour projects the arrival of more foreign investment to Panama

Signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Secretariat of Energy of Panama and Energy Transfer to study the feasibility of joint participation in a Trans-Panama Gateway Pipeline project.

More than 120 investors showed interest in Panama as a strategic country to develop business, in the last working tour of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, during five days in the United States.

This tour is part of the economic reactivation plan with the aim of attracting good investments that will create jobs in Panama.

President Cortizo Cohen visited the cities of Dallas, Austin and Houston, in the United States, to promote investment and the establishment of multinationals in the country, also given its strategic geographical position.

Thus, for example, Millicom, which operates in Panama with the Tigo brand, will invest $ 250 million in the expansion of its fixed and mobile internet services throughout the country, including in Plan Colmena communities. The update of this company's network will benefit 800,000 Panamanians, of which about 200,000 do not have mobile phone or internet coverage.

Tigo also chose Panama as the “Fintech Hub” for the entire region, due to the country's competitive advantages and its solid international banking center.

In Dallas, Texas, President Cortizo Cohen witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Secretariat of Energy of Panama and the Energy Transfer company, to study the viability of joint participation in a Trans-Panama Gateway Pipeline project .

This project will give Panama the opportunity to position itself as a global distribution center for petroleum products.
