The National Institute for Professional Training and Training for Human Development (INADEH) will expand the offer of courses in the area of ??language training from 2021, starting with teaching courses in Mandarin.
To this end, the Director General of INADEH, Virgilio Sousa Valdés began conversations with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Panama, Wei Qiang and the director of the Confucius Institute of the University of Panama (UP), Junhui David Wu Yi to establish a strategic alliance that facilitates establishing the academic contents of the course and the search for Panamanians who can give the training.
In the meeting he held with both authorities, Sousa Valdés pointed out that the first phase of this project includes virtual trainings in the Mandarin language with professors from the Confucius Institute of the UP.
While the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Panama seeks to train instructors and Panamanians in the command of this language to teach INADEH courses.
According to Sousa Valdés, in addition to the command language, Portuguese courses will also be taught. "An approach has already been made with the Portuguese Ambassador in Panama, Goncalo Tales Gomes to sign an agreement and receive the support of this country so that the courses in Portuguese are a reality," he reported.
Wu Yi, Director of the Confucius Institute of the UP, said that having Panamanians trained in the Mandarin language is important for the country because opportunities are expanded for more Chinese companies to invest in the country and create new jobs. “The tourism and port sectors will benefit; many Chinese come to Panama to vacation ”, he indicated.
INADEH currently teaches seven levels of English, being one of the courses with the highest demand for participants in the 23 Vocational Training Centers.
