14 urbanizations registered with the Solidarity Fund for Housing in Herrera in seven months


A total of 14 urban projects, with the scheme of the Housing Solidarity Fund program, promoted by the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), were approved for families in the province of Herrera, for the period from January to July 2021.

The number of housing developments to be built in that province of Azueca represent 617 housing solutions, which will have the contribution of 10 thousand balboas from the solidarity bonus for families or people with a family income of up to 2 thousand balboas.

A report from the Directorate for the Promotion of Private Investment, through the liaison department in Herrera, indicates that in seven months 696 contributions of 10 thousand balboas were approved, impacting an approximate of 3 thousand 480 people.

Reynier Jiménez, provincial director of Miviot, pointed out that so far this year, there has been a significant increase in the number of requests by family cadres to acquire their first home in projects affiliated with the Housing Solidarity Fund.

He added that the sectors in the province where low-income housing construction is most active are the townships of Chitré Cabecera, Monagrillo, La Arena and San Juan Bautista, in the district of Chitré; also in the districts of Parita, Pesé and Ocú, offering an opportunity to those who wish to have a new home and undertake a life project.

For his part, Rogelio Castillo, link of the Directorate for the Promotion of Private Investment in Herrera, explained that 121 requests for resolutions from the Housing Solidarity Fund have been submitted, while 135 approved requests have been delivered, including those processed last year.

In the months of 2021, the disbursement of 128 requests was authorized for the payment of 10 thousand balboas for each approved home.

The Miviot authorities in the province of Herrera allege that they work hand in hand with the private company in the development of housing urban projects of social interest, as well as in special construction orders to help minimize the demand for houses for families who yearn for a home.
