Day of prevention and protection of child labor in Panama Oeste


A tour of protection and prevention of child labor, recently carried out, officials of the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL), in various shopping centers in the province of West Panama, this in order to comply with national standards and international agreements ratified by our country that prohibit the hiring of minors in activities classified as dangerous.

The inspections were channeled through the Directorate Against Child Labor and Protection of the Adolescent Worker (DIRETIPAT) and the Directorate of Labor Inspection, in coordination with various government agencies with joint responsibility on the issue of Child Labor and its Worst Forms .

During the tour, the presence of minors carrying out dangerous activities was not observed, so we proceeded to guide and sensitize those in charge of commercial premises and the general public, about Child Labor, Dangerous Child Labor, of the worst forms of Child Labor and Domestic Child Labor.

Likewise, a tour was made in the Seafood Market of the San Carlos District and La Ermita beach, where they spoke with the residents, since it is known that in these areas minors are observed carrying out dangerous activities.
