MICULTURE GIVES A REPORT TO THE IDB ON PROJECT PROGRESS


The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) in its management has committed 53% of the 45 million dollars in financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) that covers the contract “Support for the Conservation and Management of Cultural and Natural Heritage PN-L1146 ”.

The data comes from the report presented by the Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Carlos Aguilar Navarro to the representative of the Inter-American Development Bank Group in Panama, (IDB) Rocío Medina Bolívar to learn about the development of the projects that have the financing of the International organization.

Within the framework of this financing, MiCultura has held more than 23 bidding processes with executed and ongoing contracts.

The meeting, together with his work team, is part of the objective of "working hand in hand with the public sector, in particular with Culture, to find solutions that allow building the conditions to advance in the generation of progress and well-being," said the owner of MiCultura.

The progress of different works within the framework of the projects financed by the IDB has a direct impact on the surrounding communities, as they generate jobs that represent income and help to reactivate the economies of the sectors where projects such as Portobelo, San Lorenzo and others.

Minister Aguilar Navarro also presented the need for new projects such as the creation of the National Museum of History and the development of the National Plan for Culture as a participatory process for the generation of public policy on culture.

In addition, he recognized the support of the IDB as a strategic partner in the actions carried out in the rescue of heritage assets, the strengthening of the Casco Antiguo Office, especially in the immediate actions for the activation of the Creative District in Panama and the Cultural Industries and Creative that contribute to the economic reactivation and promotion of tourism
