MINSA continues with strategies to minimize infections


Health authorities have argued that strategies and measures to minimize contagions have been key to moving forward, among which the population is recommended to maintain biosecurity measures, together with vaccination, as well as the application of the curfew and quarantine. , without forgetting traceability based on epidemiological impact studies.

Likewise, it has been emphasized that habits such as washing hands with soap and water, use of a mask and a face mask have been effective when being in areas or sites of mass participation of people such as public transport, shopping centers among others.

This effectiveness in the strategies has allowed Panama to be located in the first positions in the application and effectiveness of these, by achieving control of Covid-19 in one year and five months.

In the Metropolitan Health Region, the guard is not lowered and the traceability of positive patients and their contacts continues in the 23 townships of health responsibility, delivering bags with food, medications and oximeters while they complete their home quarantine period, like the attention to the patients in the hotels hospitals with the monitoring and medical attention.

Another of the positive strategies for the detection of asymptomatic or symptomatic cases were the taking of samples in sweep, applied in the health centers, express swabs and in the traceability with the rapid response teams (ERR), achieving a great daily coverage .

The Ministry of Health will continue the application of all those effective strategies in the fight against COVID-19 and its variants, as well as reiterating to the population to maintain biosecurity measures to guarantee minimizing cases and deaths.
