MINSA carries out inspections, businesses must comply with biosecurity measures.

Compliance with biosecurity measures is a determining factor in curbing the spread of COVID-19. In this direction, personnel from the departments of Environmental Sanitation, Food Protection of the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and health authorities carry out frequent inspections of commercial establishments in the province of Los Santos.

The actions go in two ways: on the one hand, compliance with biosafety measures is verified and, on the other, the sanitary regulations aimed at guaranteeing consumer products in good condition.

Last week's report revealed that 240 commercial establishments were inspected, of which 68 complied with biosecurity measures and 172 did not comply. The latter received sanctions, citations and a deadline for compliance.

It is important to note that, during the first semester of 2021, the Los Santos Regional MINSA registered 106 legal actions for non-compliance in commercial establishments, 13 in Guararé, 53 in Las Tablas, 27 in Los Santos, 2 in Macaracas, 9 in Pedasí and 2 in Pocrí.

There have also been 142 actions against natural persons, that is, persons sanctioned, 17 in Guararé, 13 in Las Tablas, 87 in Los Santos, 8 in Macaracas, 9 in Pedasí, 2 in Macaracas and 6 in Tonosí. During that period, fines were applied for an amount greater than 14 thousand dollars.

The Environmental Sanitation staff of the Ministry of Health also verifies the sanitary conditions of municipal landfills to avoid bad smells, smoke, presence of flies and any element that represents a risk to human health.

The Ministry of Health reiterates that the operations will continue in the seven districts of the province of Los Santos.
