MINSA and CSS apply Pfizer doses to merchants of Merca Panama

On the morning of this Tuesday, in Merca Panama, the vaccination team of the Social Security Fund (CSS) and the Ministry of Health throughout the Metropolitan Region, carried out a day of application of the first Pfizer doses to merchants who work in the market, as part of the vaccination strategy carried out in the country.

In this sense, Israel Cedeño, metropolitan director of Health, mentioned that a population group that for work reasons has difficulty accessing vaccination centers, which are established in schools, this site has been enabled for them, so that this population has access to their doses so they are immunized.

The importance of applying the doses according to Cedeño is the effectiveness and safety it provides to customers and / or users who buy their products in Merca Panama and increase the coverage in the immunization of the population.

"Certainly, the vaccine does not prevent contagion, but it does prevent serious disease, so people must continue to apply biosecurity measures."

For her part, the Minister Counselor in Health Affairs, Eira Ruiz reiterated the call to the population not to lower their guard, on the contrary, to take care of ourselves despite being vaccinated.

He stressed that there is a great effort, vaccines are available and vaccination has been rushed by instruction of the president, therefore, it is important that people go to be vaccinated to protect their families.

These statements were made during a tour made by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen accompanied by Minister Eira Ruiz, Health Minister Luis Francisco Sucre, MIDA Minister Augusto Valderrama and CSS director Enrique Lau Cortés, among others.
