Minseg, Public Ministry and private security unite against thefts in shopping centers


The Deputy Minister of Public Security, Ivor Pitti met with the president of the Business Security Alliance, Albert Leikin and the prosecutor for Primary Care of the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office, Julio Villarreal at the Albrook Mall Shopping Center, with the purpose of joining efforts to guarantee security and prevent the crime of theft in stores and shopping centers in the country.

Vice Minister Pitti indicated that specific strategies were established to prevent theft and joint work actions were coordinated between the National Police, the Business Security Alliance, the Primary Care Prosecutor's Office and the National Operations Center (CON), which receives complaints The 24 hours of the day.

The director of the National Police, John Dornheim, indicated that this meeting will serve to deal with certain crimes that are committed within and in the vicinity of these premises. “This strategic alliance between the Business Security Groups, the Public Ministry and the National Police will effectively deal with the criminals that affect the people who go there.

At this meeting, said Julio Villarreal, the Primary Attention Prosecutor of the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office, the modalities used to commit the crime were known, in order to strengthen the investigations in this regard.

For his part, the CON director, commissioner Ronald Jaén, said that this meeting is timely to jointly seek possible solutions to the situation of thefts that occur in these centers.

The president of the Business Security Alliance, Albert Leikin, expressed his satisfaction at the meeting he held at the working table with Vice Minister Pitti, the National Police and the prosecutor, with the purpose of continuing the fight against crime and the security of the country.

The purpose, according to Leikin, was to contribute and seek mechanisms to work together with the Ministry of Public Health, the National Police and the Metropolitan Primary Care Prosecutor's Office. This criterion was also supported by the security manager of the Riba Smith Group, Eduardo Vergara Ibarra, who added that with this structure, the aim is to reduce thefts within shopping centers, stores and companies.

"The working groups to follow and the policies in this direction were established, which will benefit the companies we represent and will help improve the perception of security in this country," added Ibarra.
