MITRADEL decrees temporary provisions for work permit applications

The Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL), promulgated in the Official Gazette Executive Decree No. 69 of September 14, 2021, which temporarily extends provisions for work permit applications that are processed in the Department of Labor Migration of the National Directorate of Employment.

This Resolution extends until December 31, 2021, the documentary validity of the forms of the Social Security Fund corresponding to the months of February and March 2020, exclusively to be provided as evidence within the application for the extension of permits of work.

The Executive Decree specifies that until December 31 of this year, requests for extensions will be accepted, having as a requirement that the CSS file reflects a minimum of nine installments in the last year or the presentation of the income statement before the General Directorate of Income.

Due to the fact that the suspension of employment contracts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic left labor relations without updated CSS files, the MITRADEL authorities decided to extend the validity of the files so that foreign workers with a suspended contract can renew their work permit.
