MITRADEL launches Online Work Permit Processing


The Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL) in conjunction with the Government Innovation Authority (AIG), carried out this Wednesday, May 5, the official launch of the Online Work Permit Procedure that will allow users to register and request for cases of Lawyers' Work Permits in the Panama Digital portal by simply entering www.mitradel.gob.pa.

The implementation of this process makes Panama the first country in the region with a digital work permit card that guarantees orderly and safe labor migration.

In her intervention, the Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Doris Zapata Acevedo, pointed out that the processing of work permits includes two (2) Phases: Phase 1 that brings us together today, and the second is the implementation of this service that involves the use of the governmental online processing platform as represented by the Portal www.panamadigital.gob.pa.

The Labor Minister highlighted the efforts made during her tenure to reduce the delay found in the processing of various documents and dispatches, so that from September 4, 2019 the first phase of MITRADEL DIGITAL was opened, with the implementation production of the first 6 online procedures, where people were freed from attending our facilities in person, improving the quality of care, generating high availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and performing them from the comfort of your offices, workplaces and homes.

For his part, the General Administrator of the AIG, Luis Oliva, highlighted that since the beginning of this administration, MITRADEL has remained at the forefront in terms of the digital processing of different services and additionally announced that it will be the first ministry to implement the "Video procedure" that will allow conciliations online and will prevent users from having to do it in person, establishing mechanisms such as electronic signatures.
