Miviot explains objectives of the Land Use Plan in a risk management forum


The objectives of the Territorial Ordering Plan (POT), as well as the laws and norms that regulate and promote the use, occupation and management of land in Panama, were part of the issues addressed by the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Ordering (Miviot), during their participation in the first risk management forum, held in the capital city.

The Miviot Director of Territorial Research, Lourdes de Loré, on behalf of and on behalf of the office of the Deputy Minister of Land Management, José Batista, was part of the group of national and international exhibitors who participated in the forum called "Governance and Governance Actions in the Comprehensive Risk Management Framework 2021 ”, organized by the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc).

He explained the content of the regulations of the Law 6 of February 2006, modifications and other legal instruments in force that set out the objectives of the POT in promoting strategies for land use planning and the function of economic, social, urban and environmental plans, as well as the use of natural and human resources for the well-being of the population.

The director emphasized the land use planning plans that are technical normative instruments of a political and administrative nature that are governed by Resolution 732 of November 2015, which establishes the procedures for land use planning and development of urban, rural and urban sectors. regional, adding criteria for comprehensive disaster risk management and adaptation to climate change.

The main purpose of the forum is to enrich scientific knowledge for risk management and to reduce, prevent, respond and support rehabilitation and recovery from eventual emergencies and disasters throughout the territory, which requires the integration and activation of all sectors of Panamanian society.
