Miviot is putting out to tender materials for 200 houses of the Progreso Plan

Companies linked to the manufacture and distribution of materials presented their proposals in the public tender carried out by the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) for the supply of materials in the construction of 200 houses of the new Progreso Plan, nationwide. The event was led by the director of Housing Improvement of the Miviot, Ricaurter Bowen, and personnel from the Purchasing Department, who supervised the opening of the envelopes and who had the proper documentation required to participate in the public process. Bowen explained that after the opening each of the proposals goes to an evaluation commission that will be in charge of checking that they meet all the requirements required by law and be able to choose the winner, which is then sent for endorsement by the Comptroller General of the Republic. The tender was carried out virtually, with the proponents complying with the measures required by the health authorities, to avoid crowds and possible Covid-19 infections. He indicated that the bidders participated both for the supply kit of the construction system for the housing units, as well as for the materials that will be used for the construction of the same. Among the companies that participated for the single-family home construction company are Pass, S.A., whose proposal was 2 million 567 thousand 516 balboas and 36 hundredths and Hopsa, S.A. that proposed an amount of 3 million 89 thousand 90 balboas. For the supply of wire and finish nails, 10-foot and 12-foot form hardwood and 10-foot spruce, siliceous sand, # 4 limestone, and 6-by-8 by 16-inch blocks, the proponent was Servitaller Industrial for a amount of 263 thousand 677 balboas and 96 hundredths. The company Constructora San Marco also participated for this last material for a price of 82 thousand 390 balboas. The reference price for this act set out in the statement of objections by Miviot is 3 million 300 thousand balboas. According to the Purchasing department, there were no bidders for the supply of ½ and 3/8 inches by 30 feet deformed steel and cement.
