Municipality of Panama and National Highway Company establish Cooperation Framework Agreement


The mayor of the district of Panama, José Luis Fábrega and the General Manager of the National Highway Company (ENA), Luis Alberto Abrego, signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement, which will allow joint actions to be taken to mitigate toll payment evasion in the North and South corridors, by integrating the ENA database with the platform maintained by the Municipality of Panama.

The document, signed this Thursday, March 18, establishes that both entities will be able to share information on the users of the North and South corridors that are taxpayers of the Municipality of Panama, to verify and clean up the balances of ENA clients and allow the updating of vehicle transfers in the ENA database and updating of general user data.

From this framework agreement, a specific work plan must be fulfilled, defining operations that allow both the purification and collection of debts from the users of the corridors and the development of programs necessary to obtain peace and security from ENA. , by vehicle owners, who affiliate their “Panapass” account with the vehicle license plate.

The agreement will enter into force from the date of its endorsement by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic and will have a duration of five (5) years. It may be automatically extended, for the same term, unless one of the parties notifies in writing, at least three (3) months before its expiration, its intention not to extend it.
