Do not lower your guard against COVID-19, nor dengue


The epidemiological bulletin of the metropolitan health region in its case reports for COVID-19 and dengue, represent a call to the population not to lower their guard by applying the recommended measures, in order to avoid the increase in cases.

Due to COVID-19, in epidemiological week 17, 591 active cases are reported, 66 hospitalized patients, 25 in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 19 people and 2,520 contacts are kept in quarantine in hotels.

The townships with more active cases, but less than 100 are: San Francisco, Bella Vista, Juan Díaz, Bethania and Parque Lefevre, however, the one that remains with zero cases is the district of Taboga; In the metropolitan region of Health there is a total accumulated cases of 74,957, recovered 72,835 and 1,793 deaths.

The bulletin also reports for dengue to date that there are 11 active cases of which 8 are without warning signs, 3 with warning signs, there are no deaths, or severe dengue.

In this sense, the townships with the highest infestation rate are Veracruz with 19.0%, Pedregal with 6.7%, followed by Las Garzas with 5.1%, Ancón with 3.7% and Parque Lefevre with 3.5% .

The Ministry of Health recommends to the population not to lower their guard against any public health situation and to continue applying biosafety measures.
