Do not lower your guard against any disease, is the recommendation that the Ministry of Health (MINSA) suggests to the population in the face of the pandemic that is experienced worldwide and that takes greater importance with the arrival of the rains in our country.

In the Metropolitan Health Region, the epidemiological bulletin regarding dengue reports 13 confirmed cases of which 11 are without alarm signs (SSA), 2 with alarm signs (CSA), but no deaths have been recorded to date.

The townships that confirm a dengue case so far are December 24, Ancón, Curundú, Don Bosco, Pueblo Nuevo, Tocumen and Veracruz, while Parque Lefevre has 2 cases and Betania reports 4 cases.

Likewise, the report shows that the townships with the highest percentage of infestation are Veracruz with 11.3%, Las Garzas 9.5%, Tocumen 9.3% while Pueblo Nuevo 9.1% and Felipillo 7.8%.

Other diseases caused by the vector (anopheles mosquito) that have epidemiological control and management are Zika, Chikungunya and Malaria.

Reports in the Metropolitan Health Region indicate that 2 cases of Zika have been ruled out in the townships of Tocumen and Las Mañanitas, 2 cases are confirmed in Chikungunya in the townships of Las Garzas and Ancón, while 23 cases are reported due to Malaria.
