West Panama, 95% vaccination coverage in circuits 8-2 and 8-3


During four days of the vaccination process of the first dose against covid-19 to teachers, pregnant women and those over 60 years old in circuits 8-2, 8-3 that included the districts of Capira, Chame and San Carlos, where it was also community sweeps were applied to a population over 16 years of age in hard-to-reach areas that belong to the Colmena Plan, 29,467 people were vaccinated, of which 24,385 doses were applied by personnel from the Ministry of Health and 5,082 doses by the Social Security Fund.

Vaccination against COVID-19 has been a success, thanks to the organization, teamwork and simultaneous vaccination strategy in both districts; 15,408 doses were applied in circuit 8-2 Capira District and 14,159 doses in circuit 8-3 Chame and San Carlos District for a coverage of 95% of the estimated population.

According to a report from the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI), 5149 adults over 60 years of age, 557 teachers, 68 pregnant women, 9634 people aged 16 to 59 years were vaccinated in the 8-2 circuit, meanwhile in the 8- circuit. 3 to 6,992 adults over 60 years old, 631 teachers, 48 ??pregnant women, 6388 people aged 16 to 59 years.
