Panamanian papaya will be shipped to Canada

About 1,000 boxes with papaya of the tainung variety will be sent to Canada by the Panama Squash company, which would become the second Panamanian exporter of this product, which begins operations in that demanding market.

This item has been harvested at the Don Danny farm, which is located in the Barú district, Chiriquí province and represents about 16,363 kilograms of this fruit, which will be transported on 18 pallets.

The producer Tony Malca indicated that every 15 days he could be exporting a container of this product, which contributes to generating about 80 jobs in the Barouan sector and to keeping the supply stable at the national level.

The Agribusiness team of the Ministry of Agricultural Development was guiding Chirican producers on the export of this item and others.

Papaya is one of the most exported Panamanian products. This year some 40 export hectares have been planted, representing about 504,000 kilograms of this fruit that have been sent abroad, for a total value of B / .463,680.
