They propose strategies to improve processes in Merca Panama

The Merca Panama Tenant Association and a work team from the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) held a meeting in which it was proposed to improve access facilities, services and institutional alliances, as alternatives to strengthen the processes of this chain food, which generates about a million dollars in transactions a day and about 2,000 direct jobs.

The meeting took place in the Cerro Punta Warehouse, which is part of the commercial facility and was aimed at finding a solution to the main problems that the tenants of this national center of agricultural products have faced in times of pandemic.

The Minister of MIDA, Augusto Valderrama, led the delegation of the agricultural entity. He mentioned that Merca Panama will soon be passing the 40 hectares where these facilities are located and that it is planned to improve the services provided to merchants and visitors, with new facilities, such as a gas station, a bank branch and transport.

In addition, he pointed out that they will seek approaches with the tourist and cultural sector to achieve greater attractions, to motivate the Panamanian family to be encouraged to visit the site.

Sebastián Peña, one of Merca Panamá's tenants, was satisfied with the visit. He pointed out that this shows that MIDA and the National Government, led by President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, are interested in the work they have been developing in this supply chain, a way of contributing so that the Merca Panama project advances in the best way possible.
