They present an improvement plan with Community Boards to the Municipal Council of Highlands


Regional authorities of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) presented to the members of the Municipal Council of Tierras Altas, in the province of Chiriquí, the new support agreement that the institution has been signing with local governments to identify and help families who they live in poverty and extreme poverty within their communities.

During the session, the regional director of Miviot, Doris Atencio, explained that it is a community plan for housing improvement as a new social strategy where there is supervision and audits to confirm that the aid reaches families who really need it.

He recalled that recently Minister Rogelio Paredes signed this agreement with the municipalities of Boquete and Dolega, which also shows that the entity is decentralizing actions to work as a team with local authorities and thus be able to reach more families who need help housing.

Likewise, Atencio informed the members of the Municipality of Tierras Altas about the progress made for the construction of the urbanization project with 116 new houses destined for the families that were affected by Hurricane Eta, which occurred in November of last year.

He stated that at the moment the tender procedures for the construction of new housing solutions are being followed, complying with the entire process required by law.

The director affirmed that this residential work of social interest is processed following instructions from Minister Paredes, to fulfill this commitment that the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, acquired with these families affected by this natural disaster of 2020.
