The President announces a tender to build a new pier in Puerto Armuelles

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, announced this Friday, during a tour of the province of Chiriquí, that on August 2 the National Government will put out to tender the construction of the new Puerto Armuelles dock, a project that will promote commercial and tourist activities in this border region of the country.

 

In the San Valentín community, Baco district, President Cortizo Cohen said he was proud of having governed in the midst of a pandemic in which, thanks to the teamwork of the Executive with the Technical Boards, mayors, deputies and district representatives, the needs of the population have been met.

 

The president stressed that, despite the work that has been carried out to combat Covid-19, “we have not yet gained anything; we are in a third wave, fighting hard against a virus that is treacherous. "

 

He added that this month of July is extremely important in the fight against the pandemic, since one million vaccines will arrive in the country, and reiterated the call to the population to attend to prevention measures, since the third wave of Covid-19 will not It is only affecting those over 60 years old, but many young people are coming to hospital wards.

 

"Help us not to fill our intensive care rooms again", asked Cortizo Cohen, and stressed that, in 24 months of government, of which 16 have been in pandemic, he has not felt alone, because he has had the support of the majority of Panamanians.
