The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, thanked the World Bank for the trust placed in Panama upon receiving, from the Vice President of that entity for Latin America and the Caribbean, Carlos Felipe Jaramillo, the information that Panama City will be the regional headquarters of that multinational organization for Central America and the Dominican Republic.

“I appreciate the World Bank's trust in Panama by establishing the regional headquarters here. That is an important demonstration of the confidence that the World Bank has in Panama, "said President Cortizo Cohen during a meeting this afternoon with the World Bank Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean.

President Cortizo Cohen welcomed Jaramillo and Michel Kerf, who will be the bank's director for Central America and the Dominican Republic, to Panama. “Welcome you and your family to Panama, this is a country of good and noble people. As President of the Republic, I welcome you on behalf of all Panamanians and Panamanians, ”said the president.

During the meeting, they also talked about the vaccination process against Covid-19 that Panama is carrying out, of which Jaramillo said he was extremely impressing by the number of people who have come to be vaccinated in such a short time.
