President Cortizo Cohen announces vaccination of more than 150 thousand people in San Miguelito

Panama has received more than 1 million doses to strengthen the vaccination program throughout the country. - Patients with chronic diseases and people with disabilities can be vaccinated from the age of 12


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, affirmed this Friday that for the sweeping day that will be held next week in the San Miguelito district, it is projected to apply 150 thousand doses, for which he made a call to the Technical Board, municipal and local authorities, health teams and the Joint Task Force to prepare to meet this goal.

 

During the Community Work Tour in this populous sector of the province of Panama, the president said that as announced in his message to the nation on July 1, this month 1 million 151 thousand 280 vaccines have already been received from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, which has expanded coverage to hundreds of thousands of young people.

 

"Once again, prepared to advance in the territory of San Miguelito," said Cortizo Cohen.

 

The president reiterated that next week full vaccination days will be held for people 12 years of age and older on the 1-1 circuit, in Bocas del Toro; while in circuits 2-2 and 2-4, Coclé, at the moment, sweep for people from 16 years.

 

In the circuits 5-1 and 5-2 of Darién, and in the Emberá Wounaan region, there will be complete vaccination, from 12 years of age onwards; in the 9-3 circuit, in Veraguas, complete for people aged 12 and up; while for circuits 8-1, in Arraiján; and 8-6, in San Miguelito, for people 16 years of age and older.

 

He added that patients with chronic diseases and people with disabilities can be vaccinated from the age of 12.

 

Cortizo Cohen said that in the midst of the pandemic, the National Government has a great opportunity to fulfill the purpose of life: to work as a team to serve the population.

 

“We are public servants, some elected and others appointed, and we have to feel proud to serve the country and face, as we have been doing, a pandemic, in addition to being aware of social and economic issues, without expecting thanks from anyone, but to thank the country for the opportunity to serve ”, he specified.
