President Cortizo Cohen advances in the execution of the Colmena Plan during the GTC in Herrera.

- MEDUCA delivered an order to proceed to make improvements for B / .4.3 million in the Rafael Quintero Villarreal School in Ocú. - The Colmena Plan seeks to impact 300 townships in the country with multidimensional poverty in order to lay the foundations to reduce poverty and inequality.


In a Community Work Tour through the province of Herrera, the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, in the company of a delegation of State ministers, delivered the new José Dolores Carrizo School, the order to proceed to rehabilitate the Rafael Quintero School Villarreal, seven new homes for humble families, inspected the progress in the Chitré Public Market and participated in the delivery of benefits from programs of National Government institutions.

At the José Dolores Carrizo School, located in the Ocú district and district, extensive renovation works were carried out at a cost of B / .2.8 million, for the benefit of 678 students and 57 teachers. The modern educational establishment consists of a two-level pavilion with nine theoretical classrooms, a laboratory, an administration area, bathrooms, warehouses and stairs. It also has a special education classroom, concrete wall, new cyclone wire fence, and parking lots, among other facilities.

In the district of Chupampa, in Santa María, in the company of the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), Rogelio Paredes, the president handed over the new keys to his residence to Mr. Miguel Miranda, 45 years old; his wife, Mariela Santos, 30; and their four children.

Another four families received keys and certificates for their new houses, located in Ocú, Chitré and Los Pozos, while another two were awarded housing renovation certificates in Parita and El Cedro de Los Pozos.

In Chitré, the president and the official delegation visited and inspected the new Chitré Public Market (Merca Chitré) which, with an investment of B / .28.6 million and 98% progress in its construction, has 172 stores for sale

 

of meat products, fruits, legumes and vegetables and 43 for handicrafts and has cold rooms to guarantee the quality of agricultural products, fruits and meats for the benefit of consumers.

On the grounds of the San Sebastián de Ocú Fair, President Cortizo Cohen and his team of ministers, vice ministers, directors of entities and members of the technical board proceeded to distribute the benefits of programs that the Government executes through the Colmena Plan to fight poverty and inequality.

The Ministry of Social Development (Mides) delivered backpacks for early childhood; certificates of completion of a literacy course for older adults; Social Key cards, mountain motorcycle and certificates from the “Develop Your Skills for Life” program.
