President Cortizo Cohen, instructs MIDES to proceed with the third payment of the PTMC to more than 30 thousand beneficiaries in areas of difficult access

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, instructed the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) to make the payment of the third Conditional Cash Transfer (PTMC) of the year from next Monday, August 23 to 27, to 34 thousand 166 Panamanians ( as), who reside in hard-to-reach areas.

The payments of the different programs respond to the social protection policy executed by the National Government, in favor of the most vulnerable populations.

In this period, 6.9 million balboas will be disbursed, a figure that will impact the townships of the Colmena Plan located in the Comarcas and provinces of Bocas del Toro, Veraguas and Darién that present high rates of multidimensional poverty.

MIDES Minister María Inés Castillo stated that these transfers represent an important economic injection that will allow families in a state of extreme poverty to acquire basic necessities such as food, medicine and cleaning products.

He also pointed out that the president, Cortizo Cohen, is committed to strengthening and strengthening the transfer programs that are providing social protection to thousands of Panamanians during the health emergency.

Given the obligation of the beneficiaries to present the vaccination card to receive their transfer, the holder of MIDES recalled that this requirement has always been requested to apply to the programs. Payments have always been conditional on health, education, among others.

In this sense, he noted that Resolution No. 347 of July 1, 2021, published on August 5, establishes that the places where the Ministry of Health has carried out vaccination tours against the Influenza virus and / or the Covid -19, beneficiaries must present the respective card that evidences that they have in fact been immunized against these diseases, according to the sweeps carried out in the vaccination days.
