President Cortizo Cohen will participate in the UN General Assembly and will meet with important investors.


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, will travel this Monday to New York, United States, to participate in the seventy-sixth regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), as well as to hold meetings with executives of the World Bank and leading companies and investment funds, with the aim of attracting good investments that create jobs and contribute to the reactivation of the country's economy.

 

The president will be accompanied by the first lady, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, and a delegation made up of Erika Mouynes, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ramón Martínez Minister of Commerce and Industries, José Alejandro Rojas Pardini, Minister Counselor for the Facilitation of

 

Private investment; and Juan Carlos Sosa, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, the General Administrator of Tourism Iván Eskildsen and the Director of PANDEPORTES Héctor Brands, among other officials.

 

After his participation, on Tuesday 21, in the opening ceremony of the debate of the UN Ordinary Assembly, the president and the Panamanian delegation that accompanies him will hold the following work agenda:

They will meet with the VISA group, in a meeting led by Alfred F.

Kelly, president and CEO; Eduardo Coello, president for Latin America; and Sylvia Constaín, vice president of government relations for America and the Caribbean, among other senior executives, where they will provide details of the growth of their operations in Panama.

Appointment with the President of the World Bank, David Malpass. Last month, the World Bank established its subregional office for Central America and the Dominican Republic in Panama, from where it will lead a portfolio of almost B /. 5,000 million, which includes 49 projects in various sectors.

President Cortizo will have meetings with various investment funds such as Notarc, Canada Pension Plan (CPP Fund), Brooksfield and KKR to discuss possible investments in the national territory.
