President Cortizo Cohen sanctions a law promoting the international baccalaureate in Panama.

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, sanctioned this Friday the law that implements the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in the country's official and private educational centers at the intermediate level and offers an international certification to access higher education in all the world.

 

"Today is a great day for education in Panama and I hope that students know how to take advantage of this opportunity," said President Cortizo Cohen at the facilities of the Panama Academy for the Future, in the City of Knowledge.

 

The Chief Executive stressed that the difference has to be a good education and that the graduates of this academy will take admission exams in the best universities in the United States and in the world. "We hope to replicate this pilot plan in many other schools in the country," he added.

 

He stressed that today the fruits of this initiative can be seen, which is part of the 125 priorities of the Government, thanks to the support of the City of Knowledge, “because these facilities are extremely important for the concept of what is wanted from this Bilingual Academy Panama for the Future ”, said Cortizo Cohen.

 

The president stated that the Panama Bilingual Academy for the Future will host students from different parts of the country. "There are about 150 outstanding students from official schools who will have a bilingual education and the opportunity to study in the best universities in the world," reiterated Cortizo Cohen.

 

Juan David Morgan, president of the Board of Trustees of the City of Knowledge, indicated that education is fundamental in the development of a country; and that is why "the future began today with the enactment of this law."

 

In this way, Panama will once again be at the forefront in high-performance projects, narrowing the inequality between private and public training, and a global field of knowledge opens up with the City of Knowledge as an internship under tutors trained with the specific organizations: scientific, cultural, artistic and sports
