President Cortizo Cohen meets with investors from the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

On the first day of the work tour in Texas, a memorandum of understanding was also signed with the Energy Transfer company, which would provide the opportunity for Panama to establish itself as a distribution center for petroleum products in the world.


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, on his first day of the work tour in Texas, United States, met with a group of more than 20 investors and entrepreneurs from the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and witnessed the Signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Energy Transfer company to study the viability of joint participation in a Trans-Panama Gateway Pipeline project.

 

At the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce meeting, approaches were made to develop a frequent air cargo route between Dallas and Panama; promote energy transfer, support the local livestock sector; establish a flight route to Panama for the low-cost airline Southwest and encourage the expansion of North Texas companies in our country, among others.

 

President Cortizo Cohen stated that this five-day mission has the objective of attracting good foreign investment that generates employment in the country.

 

The tour began in Dallas with a meeting with businessmen from the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, then they met with the CEO of Energy Transfer, Kelcy Warren to sign a memorandum of understanding and in the evening they will leave for Austin to visit the University of Texas and see various topics on high-performance sports and high-tech laboratories, detailed the President of the Republic of Panama.
