President Cortizo highlights Panama's climate to make good investments

Cortizo Cohen also visited the Nevada production plant in Chiriquí and took the opportunity to reiterate the advantages of Panama as a place for good investments due to the solidity of its institutions, social peace and the Government's respect for the established rules of the game.

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, participated in Chiriquí in the start-up of the Nevada 2% lactose-free milk production line. And he took the opportunity to thank the business sector for the trust placed in Panama to make investments and promote the economic reactivation of the country.

“This event today is one more example of the confidence of investors in the future of our country and in the capacity of Panamanians. This initiative takes on greater significance because it reflects the optimism and commitment of the country's productive sector in the stage of economic recovery in which we need everyone's contribution, ”said Cortizo Cohen.

He pointed out that the expansion of the plant's capacity for the production of lactose-free milk will create a significant increase in the demand for raw materials and inputs, helping to stimulate other economic activities and generate more jobs.

"The investments made by the company expanding its production capacity, modernizing plants, improving processes and also taking care of the environment are important for Panama and our country appreciates it," he said.

Likewise, he congratulated the company for its vision, for contributing to the creation of direct and indirect job opportunities that benefit these communities and the 170 dairy farms from which they buy Grade A milk for their production.

The president took the opportunity to reiterate the advantages of Panama as a place for good investments due to the solidity of its institutions, social peace and the Government's respect for the established rules of the game.

"I reiterate our commitment to good investments and entrepreneurs who share with Panamanians the vision and mission of building a country of progress, well-being and opportunities for all," he emphasized.

Gonzalo Chaves, Corporate CEO of Dos Pinos, stated that the new lactose-free milk production line adds to the more than $ 120 million that Dos Pinos has invested in Panama since it acquired the Nevada Plant in 2013.

Productos Nevada buys 130,000 liters of Grade A milk daily, which represents 45% of the total milk produced in that category, making it the largest buyer of Panamanian milk.
