President Cortizo highlights that Panama is among the first countries in the world with complete vaccination.

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, announced that Panama occupies one of the first places in the world by completing the vaccination against Covid-19 of 1,566,450 doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca, two of the best vaccines.

 

He stressed that this figure represents the effort of teamwork. "All this is not the work of a president, it is the work of a disciplined team that involves the Central Government, Technical Boards and communities."

 

He stated that in this vaccination process there has been a great mobilization of young people, "who have given us a lecture."

 

He announced that from the first week of September second doses will be applied simultaneously in eight circuits of the country and it is expected to immunize 455,284 people.

 

He specified that in circuit 1-1 in the province of Bocas del Toro, second doses will be applied from 12 years on and in the same way in circuits 2-3, Coclé; 3-1, Colon; 8-4, Chepo and islands; 8-8, San Francisco, Parque Lefevre, Juan Díaz and Don Bosco. From 16 years on, second doses will be applied in circuits 7-1, Los Santos; 8-5, La Chorrera and 8-9, Panama North.
