President Cortizo initiates an important agenda to attract investments that help economic reactivation


The president of the Republic. Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, participated this morning in the opening of the seventieth regular session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), which began with the intervention of the leaders of Brazil, the United States, Qatar and Colombia.

 

In turn, President Cortizo Cohen, accompanied by the official delegation, began an important agenda focused on attracting good investments that create jobs and contribute to the reactivation of the country's economy.

 

“It is an honor to return to the United Nations together with world leaders to participate in this UN session. Panama is doing its part to rebuild a sustainable world and overcome the enormous challenges we face after the pandemic caused by Covid-19 ”, said the Panamanian president, accompanied by the first lady, Yazmín Colón Cortizo, upon his arrival at the UN headquarters, in New York, United States.

 

He added that this UN session is a great opportunity to fulfill the actions and goals that will be proposed during the meeting.

 

Panama is one of the three countries in the world, and the only one in America, classified as “negative carbon”, and recently the country reached the category of “blue world leader” (Word Blue Leader), complying with the 30x30 initiative to protect the 30% of our oceans.
