President Cortizo inspects progress of projects that create jobs and seek to reactivate the economy

He also visited the megaproject Puerto de Cruceros in Amador, which expects to receive the first tourists in November.


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, carried out a Community Work Tour on circuit 8-7 of the capital city, in which he made a tour of El Chorrillo to observe the progress of the Recovering My Neighborhood program, and inspected the project under construction of the cruise port in Amador, both initiatives create jobs and seek the economic reactivation of the country.

 

In the town of El Chorrillo, President Cortizo Cohen learned about the progress of the building revitalization program Recovering My Neighborhood, which is being carried out by the National Council for Sustainable Development (Conades), under the leadership of Executive Secretary Luis A. Ramírez. The program is 94% complete and is expected to end before the stipulated date.

 

This project began in November 2020 for the revitalization of 92 multi-family buildings. The scope of the work includes the washing, repairing, painting of walls and open common areas, waterproofing and painting of slabs on building roofs, change of roof and eaves covers, supply and installation of solar lighting on building facades and areas of game, general renovation of internal and external common areas of the buildings; exterior installation of decorative window frames.

 

This economic reactivation program has generated more than 4 thousand jobs to date, directly benefiting more than 18 thousand inhabitants of the El Chorrillo district.

 

The program, which began in 2020, includes an investment of more than B / .18 million for the remodeling of multi-family homes in the cities of Panama, Colón and other sectors of the country.
