President Cortizo receives the United States Deputy National Security Advisor for the International Economy.

- The Chief Executive stressed that “Panama is the country with the best connectivity by sea and air in Latin America and the Caribbean. - Build Back Better World is an initiative led by the United States that seeks to invest in human infrastructure, for the benefit of the Panamanian people.


The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, met on Wednesday afternoon with Daleep Singh, United States Deputy National Security Advisor for the International Economy, in a meeting at the Presidential Palace in which they discussed issues related to change climate, security, technology and energy.

 

The Chief Executive stressed that “Panama is the country with the best connectivity by sea and air in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is a unique position. We have central offices of different international companies, presence of these companies in Panama. We are strategic allies and relations between the two countries are good. This is good for Panama and for the United States ”.

 

The Panamanian leader defined the country's priorities to take advantage of this initiative. He spoke about access to water, digital inclusion and transparency.

 

Cortizo Cohen reiterated that the doors of Panama will always be open to the United States.

 

Daleep Singh arrived in Panama as part of his Latin American tour to launch the G7 Build Back Better World initiative. This initiative's priority is to invest in people, in health, digital inclusion, climate change and gender equality.

 

Panama is one of the first three countries selected by the United States to include the Rebuild a Better World initiative.

 

During his visit, the US advisor spoke with President Cortizo Cohen about how Panama can benefit from this initiative with transparent and sustainable investments that respond to the country's needs, that involve Panamanian workers, and maintain high labor and environmental standards.

 

Singh said that, on this tour in Colombia, Ecuador and Panama, the United States Government seeks to partner with its great allies and friends in the launch of a series of strategic infrastructure partnerships that will improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
