President Cortizo points out that the Law on Agroparks will help boost the country's economy.

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, sanctioned bill 442 on Monday, which creates the Special Regime for the Establishment of Operators and Developers of Agroparks, which, he said, will help boost the country's economy.

"As part of the Economic Recovery Plan, Phase 1, which I announced to the country on July 1, 2020, the Agroparks law was presented in order to create jobs," said the president.

He added that the purpose is "to encourage the development of agroparks, with which added value will be given to the national agricultural production as a generator and development pole that promotes job creation."

Cortizo Cohen specified that this law offers tax benefits, including the reduction of income tax and tax exemptions on imports of equipment, machinery, materials and other supplies, for up to 10 years.

In addition, he said that it guarantees modernization in the procedures and permits; and it establishes association mechanisms between agribusinesses —whether producers, service companies or agroindustrial companies— to facilitate a business network between them.

"Our administration develops a public policy of national production aligned so that our producers can have the necessary resources and incentives to prosper and contribute socially and economically to their communities," said Cortizo Cohen.
