President delivers new schools and announces sweeping vaccination on circuit 12-3, Ngäbe-Buglé region

- President announces, for the last week of September, vaccination against Covid-19 from the age of 12 in the 12-3 circuit. - During this Community Work Tour, the President of the Republic was accompanied by: Rocío Medina, IDB representative in Panama; Cristian Munduate, resident coordinator of the United Nations; José Ramón Icaza, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama; and Adorinan Sánchez, FAO representative in Panama.


During a Community Work Tour (GTC) that he carried out in circuit 12-3 (Ngäbe Bublé region), the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, delivered the culmination of 17 educational centers that replace several ranch schools, a harvest project of water, orders to proceed to rehabilitate roads and announced the vaccination by sweeping in that electoral district.

In the company of the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, President Cortizo Cohen received the new Lajero Abajo School, a modern structure that replaces the ranch classrooms that served as school grounds for 364 students and 24 teachers.

This new and spacious facility in the Nole Duima district, in the Nedrini region, was built at a cost of B / .5,831,508.00. The project included design, development of plans, demolition of ranch-type structures, remodeling and construction of new infrastructures.

With this, there are 17 schools completed in the region that add 84 new classrooms with an investment of B / .35.3 million, for the benefit of more than 4 thousand students.

In addition, 22 projects are underway in the Ngäbe Buglé region, representing 188 modern classrooms, with which 135 ranch classrooms will be eliminated. These works, which will be of benefit to 6,114 students, are built with a budget of B / .62.5 million.

The visit of the president and the minister continued at the Quebrada de Loro Basic General Center, in the Mironó district, where a water harvesting project was delivered with the support of FAO, which included practical training aimed at the community. educational.

The work has roof gutters, downpipes and leaf filters, sediment separator, Australian reserve tank of 49 thousand liters, equipment house, in which the photovoltaic system with battery bank, pump, filtration and disinfection processes will rest; in addition, solar panels.
